After Gary Thomas’ mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s he became her full-time carer. However, seven years passed and he admitted he needed extra help. Among the shock and upset, Thomas filmed his experience in a documentary, home-video style in hopes other people in a similar situations would find comfort.

Gary’s film installation, which incorporates stories submitted by members of the public of their experiences as carers, is now set to tour around the UK from June to November 2024. It will appear in Bristol, Worthing, Paignton, Uckfield and Barnsley.

The film was funded by Arts Council England.
