To celebrate this year’s World Mental Health Day, Sustrans, a sustainable transport charity, have produced a new video detailing the story of Shaun Cook, founder of Men. Talk. Walk.

Time is moving forward, but recent findings show views surrounding men’s mental health are stuck in the past. According to Mental Health UK 52% of men struggling with their mental state would be too worried to take time off work and 46% would be too embarrassed to admit their struggles to their employer.

However, 34-year-old Shaun Cook has decided enough is enough. Following his battle with loneliness during COVID-19 and grief after his friend took his own life, Shaun created a walking group in Caerphilly, South Wales, otherwise known as Men. Talk. Walk. The group is currently comprised of 150 men who meet to explore the countryside, talk about how they’re feeling and create life-long friendships.
