New tech to run scheduling of 550 carers across Inverclyde

Scottish council’s health and social care partnership (HSCP) employs Totalmobile system to modernise service delivery, improve responsiveness and reduce admin burden.

A new partnership has been announced between Inverclyde Council’s HSCP and Totalmobile, a specialist in field service management (FSM) software solutions. The tech company has been awarded a contract to manage the scheduling service for some 550 social workers across the region. The award follows a successful tendering process.

The Belfast-based Totalmobile provides tailored solutions to a client base of more than 1,000 organisations and supports more than 500,000 daily workers, in not only the health and social care sector but also housing, financial management, logistics and telecoms. The company aims to enhance the productivity and well-being of mobile workers while empowering clients to streamline operations, boost efficiency and achieve significant ROI.

For Inverclyde’s HSCP, the Totalmobile system promises to empower social care staff working in the community to handle on-day changes seamlessly, bring onboard new service users more quickly and improve overall service efficiency. Indeed, implementation of the company’s solutions – which has just got under way – is expected to enhance current processes and optimise resource across the whole HSCP.

Social care workers will be able to ensure that service continuity is maintained and that service users receive the support they need without delay or interruption. The Totalmobile technology facilitates this through intelligent systems that automatically react to unplanned changes such as staff sickness, without the need for manual intervention.

Cllr Robert Moran, Chair of the Inverclyde Integrated Joint Board that oversees local health and social care functions delegated to it by the council and health board and delivered by the HSCP, says: ‘We anticipate the new service will allow social care staff, who are delivering vital services across the community, to work more efficiently and have less time sitting at their desk manually inputting data.’

Chris Hornung, Managing Director of Public Sector at Totalmobile, adds: ‘We’re proud to support Inverclyde Council in their mission to modernise their care services. By integrating our state-of-the-art solutions, Inverclyde will not only streamline their operations but also ensure that their carers have the tools they need to deliver exceptional care. This is a prime example of how technology can be leveraged to transform public sector services for the better.’
