Christina Marriott announced as new chief executive of RSPH

A spokesman for RSPH said Ms Marriot is an experienced leader who will be joining the organisation following her role as chief executive of Revolving Doors Agency, a charity that aims to improve services for those who are in repeated contact with the justice system.

Ms Marriot said: ‘RSPH  holds a unique position of influence, both nationally and internationally, and at such a significant time for public health, it is an honour to be appointed.

‘I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring my passion around health inequalities to leading the Society’s next chapter.  I look forward to working with the trustees, staff team and membership to ensure that the Society achieves the greatest impact.’

In the past, Ms Marriot served as head of Integrated Equality and Health Inequalities Service at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, as national lead for Health Inequalities for NHS England and as head of Policy and Public Affairs at national social justice charity, Nacro.

She has served on a number of advisory boards including the Ministerial Advisory Board on Female Offenders, the Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group (RR3) and the Civil Justice Council Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction working party.

She has also as chair of the Bradley Report Group and the Health Inequalities Reference Group.

Welcoming the announcement, Dr Nigel Carter, chair of RSPH said: ‘We are delighted to announce the appointment of Christina Marriott as our new chief executive.

‘Christina will be joining us from the charity Revolving Doors where she has led a transformation over the last five years.

‘She has a passion for reducing inequalities in health, having held senior NHS posts in this area for a number of years.  With a strong background in marketing, we look forward to RSPH  achieving new heights under her leadership.’
