Exciting opportunity – 2 full time Peripatetic Residential Workers needed for a new children’s home!
Wakefield is ambitious for children and have adopted an innovative approach throughout its residential model.
There are times children need short term placements which are difficult to find. This can result in children being placed in placements that do not meet their needs. Wakefield is opening two short term homes which can support in an emergency allowing time to identify the right long-term placement for children. The homes will care for children for up to 12 weeks with up to 3 children in each home.
An excellent understanding of the needs of children in care, with a clear ambition to provide outstanding services for the children we look after is required. We will provide you with excellent supervision, appraisal, on – going training and support in obtaining your qualification awards.
This post requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with good communication skills. You will need to be organised and confident in interactions with children and young people. An essential part of this role is a peripatetic basis and ability to be flexible on locations for children.
Previous experience of trauma informed practices, therapeutic caring and connective parenting are desirable although full training will be provided. It is essential that you are kind, caring, patient, resilient and can see the need behind behaviours.
