We have posts available in teams across County Durham, and can take your preferences into account when agreeing where you will be based.

If you have recently qualified and are looking to start your social work career in Durham we would still love to hear from you. Please contact one of our Social Work Academy practice leads Jane Farrell or Gladys Mante-Nyadu to discuss the opportunities available to you .You can contact Jane by e-mail at Jane.Farrell@durham.gov.uk, or by telephone on 07582665535, and Gladys by e-mail at gladys.mante-nyadu@durham.gov.uk, or by telephone on 03000 266172.

This is a rewarding and varied role working with children and families in need of help and protection. You will complete single assessments, work with children on a Child in Need basis, undertake Child Protection work and enquiries under Section 47, as well as Public and Private Law.

Using our signs of safety practice model in a strengths-based, relational, trauma aware way, you will work alongside families to build safety plans and networks with the child's voice at the centre of all that you do.

We encourage you to contact Haley Nebitt, one of our team managers for an informal discussion about the role before you apply. You can contact Hayley by e-mail at Haley.Nesbitt@durham.gov.uk.
