A Rewarding Opportunity in CYP…

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

The successful candidate will be based at the Civic Centre and lead the 5 locality teams which cover the West half of the borough. These teams consist of team managers, practice consultants, social workers and social work assistants and together with our partner agencies, they provide our frontline response to any concerns, which are raised regarding young people in Brent.

Since our restructure in 2018, the locality teams offer continuity of service for our children and families. Following from their initial screening by the Brent Family Front Door these teams provide the full range of Child in Need and Child Protection services for families up to the point where legal action may be required to safeguard children.

The post holder will ensure that we deliver a range of consistently high quality services, which are both timely and effective in bringing about the desired goals.

They will also ensure that their teams provide value for money and to this end, they will provide careful management and scrutiny of the budget of approximately £3million which is allocated to this service.

The Person
