Reading is changing. We are strengthening Children’s Services and embedding consistently strong, child‑centred practice across the system. Over the last year we have delivered sustained positive improvements and are now looking for an experienced senior leader to build on that progress and lead our core statutory services with confidence and pace.

You will provide strategic leadership across family help, children’s social care, safeguarding, youth justice and corporate parenting, ensuring high‑quality practice, strong grip on performance and consistently good outcomes for children and families. Working closely with colleagues across the senior leadership team, you will lead improvement at scale, support inspection readiness and embed a learning culture that puts children’s lived experience at the centre of everything we do.

This is a pivotal role within an ambitious, supportive and collaborative Children’s Services leadership team, committed to delivering real, sustainable change for Reading’s children and families.
