We are looking for a Business Intelligence Officer to join our innovative Wakefield Council Children & Young People Services Teams.

What will be expected from me?

You will work as part of a Team to provide key data and intelligence to your colleagues, including those in the Leadership Team to support Wakefield Council Children & Young People Services.

You will support us in meeting our statutory requirements and our vision to deliver improved outcomes for Children and Young people by providing performance and service intelligence reporting for Safeguarding Services, Early Help Service, Youth Justice Service and Education & Inclusion.

What I might be doing?

  • You will be using reporting tools such as SQL and Power BI to generate data and service intelligence to support the effective delivery of Children and Young People Services
  • You will produce regular reports and develop new reports with visualisation to ensure these are understandable by colleagues across Services
  • You will support and assist in the achievement of operational objective of the Business Intelligence Team and in the wider context of the Children & Young People’s Directorate, and its partnerships
  • You will support the development, continuity and effective use of business and service intelligence across the Children & Young People’s Directorate.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent level experience in data science, analytics, statistics or related area or service improvement technique; including the effective use of data and performance information for the provision of effective operational service delivery, developing service strategy and commissioning
  • It is essential that candidates have analytical experience and the ability to use information systems to develop intelligence.  An advanced knowledge of MS Excel is required as well as some experience in using business intelligence reporting tools such as SQL Server, MS Power BI or SAP Business Objects to extract data.
