Ending Adoption Support Fund would be ‘act of vandalism’

The Department for Education (DfE) has announced a short-term extension to the Adoption Support Fund (ASF).

The ASF funds therapeutic support for families whose children were placed in care prior to adoption or special guardianship, and who are likely to have experienced severe trauma prior to coming into care.

The short-term extension means families will be able to start nine months of support from July 2020 even if it ends after March 2021.
