The Scottish care home has been praised for delivering ‘exceptional’ person-centred care in an environment where residents truly feel at home.
Strathtay House Care Home – a Perth-based organisation run by HC-One Scotland – has been shortlisted for Care Home of the Year at the 2025 National Care Awards.
Gina Laqueo, manager of the care home, said the team are absolutely ‘delighted’ by the news.
‘This recognition is a testament to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and wonderful residents who make Strathtay House such a special place,’ Gina continued.
The care home, which supports up to 40 older people, was rated ‘Very Good’ across all key areas by the Care Inspectorate in summer. According to the care homes listed in Perth on Lottie – a free digital service that allows people to compare homes in their area – Strathtay House is one of two homes to receive such a high rating.
What’s more, staff have been commended for their tireless efforts. For example, carers have created a number of activities, from live music to garden parities, with an aim to better residents’ quality of life, rather than merely fill time.
Sponsored by dozens of organisations, such as TLC Care, Nightingale Hammerson and Autumna, The National Care Awards are set to take place on 7th November 2025 at Park Plaza, London.
