Book launched to help NHS workers avoid burnout

Hazel Anderson-Turner, an expert mindset coach, helped support staff through the pandemic and her experiences can now be read about in her latest novel.

Titled Coaching Though Burnout, Hazel’s book is due to be launched on 24th January and will be available from the majority of major bookstores.

The work details 15 years of experience that Hazel has gained working in the coaching sector – where she specialises in acceptance and commitment therapy – and ultimately acts as a burnout-prevention toolkit. What’s more, the book provides a coaching course framework to equip leaders with practical skills they can use to support their teams – particularly those suffering with stress and exhaustion.

It is estimated that the novel, which was created in partnership with the Unbound Press, could save the economy £28bn per year – the amount the UK are currently spending on the NHS as workers have become extremely run down.

Alongside providing advice on how teams can cope with stress and major fatigue, Hazel’s novel also includes her own candid burnout story – she previously worked as a team leader where she struggled to find balance between juggling work and motherhood.

‘Burnout affects all people across all industries, and it’s time we start addressing it at both an individual and systemic level,’ Hazel explained. ‘These techniques have been transformative for my coaching clients, and I am eager to share them with a wider audience through this book, which provides the tools to create the mindset shift needed to prioritise wellbeing, so the devastating consequences of burnout can be prevented.’

As well as working as a coach and now an author, Hazel also co-hosts The Coaching Unpact Podcast with charted psychologist Dr Rachael Skews.
